The Huntington Arts Council, in collaboration with our friends, The Walt Whitman Birthplace Association, invite artists to participate in Rooted in Verse. Entries will draw inspiration directly from one chosen poem (per work) of the three selected by the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association from Whitman’s Leaves of Grass. The poems are shown below.

- Entries
- Entries must be original to the entrant.
- Hanging wire required.
- No more than 2 works will be selected by the juror.
- All Artists and media.
- Written work must be printed.
- Size
- Hanging work 48″ x 48″ max
- Standing work 72″ max
- Video/audio work cannot exceed 50MB in file size and 10 minutes in duration.
- Fees: First three entries
- Please note: Fees are nonrefundable
- JOURNEY School Students $15
- Full-time students $25
- Artist Circle Members $30
- WWBA Members $30
- Non-Members $40
- Additional Entries $5 each

- Works are insured while in the possession of the Huntington Arts Council.
- Sales
- HAC retains a 25% commission on sold work
