Grant Application Review
Huntington Arts Council seeks nominations for panelists to review grant applications and recommend funding for the LI Grants for the Arts program. In 2025, HAC will administer a Bi-Monthly Community Micro Grant for arts & culture programming, an Artist Fellowship for individual artists of all disciplines and a General Operating Support Grant for arts and cultural organization’s general operations with a fiscal year budget of $400,00 or less.
Panels consist of a diverse group of professionals with specific areas of expertise. Panelists review applications and prepare recommendations for the appropriate committee of Huntington Arts Council’s Board of Directors. Staff members are present at the panel meetings, but do not participate in the deliberations.

Panel Duties
Panelists receive applications and related materials for review prior to the panel meeting. Completed scoresheets along with panelists’ feedback are submitted to the grants team and tabulated. At panel review, the panelists discuss each application in detail according to the criteria articulated in the corresponding guidelines. We require panelists to sign a conflict of interest statement and to recuse themselves from discussions concerning any application where there is a potential conflict of interest or the appearance thereof.
Panelist Nominations
Huntington Arts Council is committed to maintaining a balance of geographic, ethnic, and cultural diversity in its commitment to high standards of integrity and impartiality in its decision-making process. While every panelist nomination is considered, Huntington Arts Council is not able to appoint every qualified nominee to serve on a panel.
We encourage self-nominations or nominations of community members that exemplify the criteria described above.
