Essential Exhibition

Essential July 10 – August 8, 2020

What is Essential during this time we are in?

Doctors, nurses and hospital support staff. Educators and school administrators. MTA maintenance workers, train conductors and bus drivers. Grocery store, local eatery and food delivery employees. Government workers who process applications for benefits. Utility workers keeping electricity and water running. Police departments, Fire stations, EMS and other civil servants and volunteers. Zoom, Google Meet, and Facetime happy hours. Families dropping food and PPE to elderly relatives. Drive-by celebrations to make sure someone knows they are not alone or forgotten.

\”Essential\” is a non-juried exhibition of works based on artists\’ interpretation of what essential means during the current Covid19 pandemic. The participating artists are: Beth Atkinson,  Shain Bard, Sheri Berman, Lisa L. Cangemi, Karen Davis, Naomi Diracles, Vicki Miss Field, Jan Guarino, Patricia Hodder, Jillian Hooey, Julianna Kirk, Linda Liao, E Craig Marcin, Celeste Mauro, Amanda O\’Rourke, Eileen Palmer, and Lori Scarlatos

Friday, July 10, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM we will have the gallery (213 Main St., Huntington) open for visitors to view Essentials. We will limit capacity to 10 people at any given time. All individuals will be asked to sign in when they enter, and required to wear a face covering and maintain social distance.

Essential can be viewed here on our website, and \”through the window\” or in person at our Main Street Gallery, 213 Main St., Huntington from July 10 – August 8, 2020. The public will be able to come into the gallery with our hours and capacity limited to Tuesday through Friday, 11:00AM – 4:00PM. Our gallery remains closed on the weekends. We recommend that you call, 631-271-8423 ext 0, or email info@huntingtonarts.org  in advance of stopping by, to confirm that a staff member will be available. All individuals will be required to wear a face covering and maintain social distance.
