Posted on January 10, 2018 by public relations in Member of the Month

Congratulations to Beth Atkinson, acknowledged as the artist of the month as a finalist in the recent  AARP Art@50+ exhibit. The Huntington Arts Council was proud to be a partner in a collaborative exhibition Art@50+ with AARP Long Island and the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset. This show was a open call to all artists over 50 years of age, whether you are a practicing artist or just getting started. The works could be a range in style from contemporary art to abstract and everything in between! Art@50+ showcases ten selected winners, 6-8 works chosen dependent on the size of the work.

Beth Atkinson an award winning artist, received her Masters degree from Queens College in 1991 and her BFA from Purchase College in printmaking in 1983.  She currently resides in Northport, NY and has exhibited in numerous galleries and juried /invitational exhibitions throughout New York and Washington State. Beth is primarily a printmaker working in woodcut, linoleum, etching, silkscreen and monoprint. She also works in sculpture with found object assemblage as well as book arts, collage and fused glass jewelry.
