Absolutely Abstract-Maxine Jurow, Juror

The Huntington Arts Council is proud to announce  Absolutely Abstract Maxine Jurow, Juror. Opening Reception, Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6 -8 pm at the Main Street Gallery, 213 Main Street, Huntington NY 11743. This is a free event. The exhibit is on display from August 17 through September 9, 2017.

“As the juror for this show, I found it to be a very special endeavor. The work was excellent, exciting, and varied by materials, size, shape, form and color. What an interesting body of work!” stated Maxine Jurow

Molefsky, Michelle Palatnik, Bonnie Peritz, Joan Rockwell, Coleen Ryan-Rivera, Che Sabalja, Nicole Sagginario, Khurshid Saleem, Lawrence Schloss, Ryan Sloan, Jackie Stevens, Kenneth Strier, Donald Wilson, Stephen Wyler, Peter Young

Maxine Jurow has worked in the language of abstraction throughout her artistic career. She has traveled widely, bringing impressions and inspirations from as far away as Australia and as nearby as Long Island sound to her colorscape paintings and pastels. Maxine sees abstraction as an imaginative process, rooted in observation, tied by the thinnest thread to objective reality. Maxine holds a BFA and MFA from Long Island University.
