The Human Condition-Juried Photography Show- Marc Josloff Juror

Posted on January 26, 2017 by public relations in Exhibition, Featured, Main Street Gallery

The Huntington Arts Council is proud to announce the Opening Reception of The Human Condition-juried photography show; Mark Josloff Juror. Join us Friday, February 3, 2017 6-8pm. Main Street Gallery, 213 Main Street, Huntington NY. This is a free event. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend. The exhibit will be on display from the 2nd of February through February 25, 2017.

The photography show entries for “The Human Condition.” were inspired by the following quote from juror Marc Josloff. “People are affected by their cultures, surroundings, personal relationships and individual situations. Observe and capture aspects of the human condition through individual character studies or person-to-person interactions. Expressions, body language, you can even depict settings which show the specific impact of humans without their physical presence.”

Congratulations to all of the artists participating in this show; Alex Atkinson, Shain Bard, Stephen Bitel, Wendy Curtis, Doris Diamond, James Dima, Frank Esposito, Ken Farrell, Alyssa Fox, Joanna Gazzola, Bill Grabowski, Teri Herzog, Germaine Hodges, Geraldine Hoffman, Warren Jacobson, Kenny Ng, Niki Kniffin, Herb Knopp, William Mac Millan, Joseph Manor, Stan Mehlman, John Micheals, Jean Miller, Kenny Ng, Alan Richards, Jim Sabiston, Max Schauder, Paul Schmid, Susan Silkowitz, Christina Stow, Donald Thiergard, William Von Gonten, Pamela Waldroup, Joan Weiss

“On the walls of the Huntington Arts Council’s Main Street Gallery, we can now interact with fellow humans from different cultures around the world or from the confines of our own backyards…even from the depths of our own minds! I am honored to have been able to receive so many brilliant photographic images to pore through. In the process I’ve been moved greatly and I’m confident that everyone who sees this exhibition will be impacted the same way.” said Juror Marc Josloff

About the Juror: a Long Island native, Marc Josloff has been President of the Long Island Center of Photography and its discussion and critique facilitator while teaching painting at the National Art League. He judges painting and photographic exhibitions across the NY Metro region. Because of his diverse background as an artist, he is keenly aware of the role of the visual elements of line, shape, color, values, texture and space in telling the story between the picture’s borders. Marc has been the recipient of international awards for his painting as well as his photography and in 2004 Artist’s Magazine selected him as one of 11 “Artists to Watch.”
