“Variations on a Theme” is a group show designed to bring awareness to the limitless range of artistic imagination. Twenty-four local artists who each work in different mediums and/or styles have interpreted one (or more) of three reference photos through their own lens and materials. The three photographs respectively represent a portrait of a vegetable vendor, a portrait of an iguana, and a landscape. The broad range of artist materials includes: watercolor, oil, acrylic and gouache paint, polymer clay, fabric collage, quilting, graphite, colored pencil , stained glass , mixed media, found object assemblage, ceramic sculpture , mosaic, tattoo art, pastel, encaustic, print, and digital art. The artists‘ submissions include both realistic and abstract interpretations of the reference photos.
An Opening Reception will be held January 4th, 2025 at 2:00PM
