Call to Artists – Juried Abstract Exhibit – “Conversations in Color”

Deadline September 2, 2016

JUROR: Kerry Irvine is an abstract expressionist painter. She works with color and form – often calling on nature, landscape and the human figure to inspire her work. Growing up in Huntington, helped to provide the rich visuals which are so prevalent in her work today. Her signature use of color reflects her fearlessness as an artist and willingness to take risks. Kerry currently lives, works and paints in the West Village of Manhattan. Her work can be found in both private and public collections throughout the United States and abroad.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists including full time students.

MEDIUM: Any Medium, including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor and pastel. (no photography, sculpture or digital art)

ENTRIES: All entries must be original to entrant. Must be framed with hanging wire on back. No artwork previously shown in the Main Street Gallery will be accepted. Submission materials cannot be returned.

SIZE FRAMED: Work must NOT EXCEED 50”H x 44”W.

ENTRY FEE: First 2 entries: “Sunset Beach” by Kerry Irvine
Artist members $25, Full-time students $25, Non-members
$35. Additional entries $5 ea. No more than 2 works per artist
will be selected.

SALES: The Huntington Arts Council retains a 25% commission on all work sold.

LIABILITY & INSURANCE: All work is insured while in the possession of the Huntington Arts Council.

Reception: Friday, October 14, 2016 6-8pm
Show Runs: October 6-24, 2016

There are two options available to enter the show

1) Submit entries, images and pay on line. CLICK HERE

Digital images must be no larger than 7mb (300 dpi, 2400 pixels on the longest side)

OR

2) Submit a paper application by downloading prospectus “Conversations in Color” Juried Abstract Show  mail or drop off completed form with CD of digital images and payment to the Huntington Arts Council, 213 Main Street, Huntington NY 11743.
