In this workshop students will learn to replicate the different and many hues of green found in nature, and to match, mix, deepen, alter, and choose the appropriate colored pencils for botanicals.
For each series of workshops a detailed materials list will be provided. Students will also be provided with a handout at the beginning of each workshop. Students will get an assignment at each workshop if they are registered for more than 1 workshop in the series or are encouraged to complete the work done from class. The following session the work will be critiqued.
The above-mentioned workshops are a start, later on we may introduce ink, tinted graphite, pan pastel, and even silverpoint. Also, different substrates, such as pastel board, tinted and black paper, polyester film (Mylar), Travertine tile, etc.
