Friday, July 27 – Gathering Time & Maxwell – Folk/Roots Americana
We kick off a Folk/Roots/Americana Weekend with two superb examples of L.I.’s tremendous home-grown talent. With a vocal blend oft-described as seamless, inspired guitar playing and precise percussion, Gathering Time (Stuart Markus, Hillary Foxsong and Gerry McKeveny) evince deep roots in ‘60s folk-rock, with a dash of traditional folk.
Kirsten Maxwell is a Long Island based singer/songwriter who has toured extensively in the U.S., released one album, won a number of songwriting competitions and performed at festivals on the East Coast and in Texas.
Together their stage chemistry and infectious energy wins over even fans who never considered themselves folkies.
