Dance Visions NY premieres “Insomnia” at Dixon Place

As part of Creative Performances “8 in Show,” Dance Visions NY premieres Beth Jucovy’s new work, “Insomnia.” 8 in Show dance series, curated by Sangeeta Yesley, features 8 dance companies each showcasing new 5 – 12 minute pieces. An expression of ease, trust, and surrender, “Insomnia” offers a sanctuary amid today’s climate of tension, egoism, and greed. Conceived during a period of insomnia while listening to music for deep sleep, two dancers embody a single organism that gradually unfolds into distinct, harmonious forms. With dancers: Anne Parichon-Buoncore and Jared McAboy. The development of this work is supported by Long Island Grants for the Arts through funds provided by the Office the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council.
