Huntington Camera Club presents Student Opportunities: Annual Roberta Strent Memorial Award

The Strent Award is a contest that recognizes not just the photo, but the students’ desire to uphold excellence in this art form. The photo gets our attention; the student essay solidifies our understanding of the student’s commitment … and teacher recommendations round out our final decisions.
As local passionate photographers ourselves, we truly embrace shining a light on young aspiring photographic artists.
The Strent family has established an annual $1,000 award in honor and memory of Roberta Strent, a beloved mother, photographer, and member of the Huntington Camera Club. The award will be made to a high school student who has demonstrated a superior aptitude and continuing interest in photography. This is not a photo contest: the quality of the applicant’s photography will be only one factor in the selection of the winner.
