DESCRIPTION:Every Spring BAFFA showcases the artwork of the local area’s elementary\, middle\, and high schools. This year the exhibits begin on March 2 and 3 with artwork by Sayville and Bayport-Blue Point elementary schools. Artwork by Sayville and Bayport-Blue Point Middle School students will be featured on March 16 and 17. Both exhibits can be seen at the BAFFA Art Gallery from 1 to 4 PM on those weekends. Gatherings is a mixed-media exhibit by this talented group of nine artists.\nBell Street\, formed in 1979 in Bellport\, meets monthly to socialize and share their latest projects. The group also encourages young artists by providing scholarships for graduating seniors who plan to pursue art studies in college.\nArtists exhibiting this year are Pat Ballan\, Anne Baum\, Bernice Corbin\, Nancy Maia\, Peter Montemuro\, Doris Rueger\, Nancy Ruth Cronin\, Will Ryder\, and John Young.\nGatherings can be viewed at the Gallery on weekends November 4 through November 26\, from 1-4 PM. DESCRIPTION:Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA)\n47 Gillette Avenue\nSayville\, New York 11782\nOctober 5\, 2023 \nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\nThe Image of a Loved One: an exhibition of portraits\, landscapes\, and still life\, is the featured exhibit at the BAFFA Art Gallery in Sayville on October 21 and 22. The artist\, Catherine Rezin\, after a career as a textile designer\, turned to painting landscapes and portraits after retirement. She especially loves painting “portraits commissioned by families to memorialize moments in time or lost loved ones. Her desire is to give back to those brave and dedicated people who serve us in so many ways…”. Raffle tickets will be sold at the exhibition to win a portrait of your loved one who lives or gave their life in service (military\, law enforcement\, healthcare\, etc.) Proceeds of the raffle will be donated to BAFFA. Exhibit hours are 1 to 4 PM on October 21 and 22. An artist’s reception will be held on the 21st from 1-4 PM. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
