Enjoy an evening of movement to Jazz and Rock songs as well as unique dances created by participants of a new Movement Exploration Workshop Class given through Great Neck Community Education. Professional dancers from Dance Visions NY will add to the richness of the evening. DESCRIPTION:Dance Visions NY\, in collaboration with Healing Art Together and Westbury Arts\, invites you to a joyful\, inclusive\, hands-on workshop where creativity comes alive through art\, movement\, and community. \nPeople of all ages and all experience levels—whether you’re a seasoned artist or simply curious to try something new—are welcome to connect\, create\, and have fun together. Through gently guided prompts\, participants will explore their unique creative voice using drawing and movement\, while contributing to collaborative works of art where every voice adds to the whole. \nThe experience begins with visual art explorations led by Janine McCray-Booker of Healing ArtTogether. DESCRIPTION:Dance Visions NY presents “Tuffets and Tricksters\,” a new site-specific program for Cedarmere\, with a thematic focus inspired by the enduring lessons of fables\, parables\, nursery rhymes\, fairy tales\, and mythology. Across cultures and centuries\, these narrative forms have provided frameworks for grappling with ethical dilemmas\, personal responsibility\, power\, courage\, and compassion. We will artistically express how these foundational moral narratives resonate within contemporary challenges in an increasingly perilous world. Through dance works alongside song\, spoken word\, and visual art\, the program reinterprets these stories through a contemporary artistic lens allowing audiences to encounter these ideas viscerally and reflectively.
