DESCRIPTION:In observance of Hispanic Heritage Month join us is celebrating the vibrant works of latine authors\, visual artists\, musicians\, and performers. This immersive 3 day experience aims to empower and honor the rich traditions of our Latine/Hispanic community. In addition to the vibrant arts showcase\, the festival will have interactive workshops\, educational activities for all ages\, and opportunities for community engagement.\nOctober 9\, 2025 Day One – Grand Opening Showcase @ Westbury Memorial Public Library 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.\nOctober 10\, 2025 Day Two- Scholar Day – for students 5th-12th grades only (schools must register by July 1\, 2025) Nassau Community College 9 a.m. – 2p.m.\nOctober 11\, 2025 Day Three – Open to the public @ Nassau Community College 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

SUMMARY:Westbury Memorial Public Library - My American Story Community Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Multidisciplinary community showcase that presents a view of the Latinx culture as it intertwines with the American culture and the frequent struggles many immigrants face to find a true sense of belonging in the U.S. Poetry\, storytelling\, performance\, live music and visual arts\, showcasing original pieces created during the 8 week writing workshop series under the same title\, conducted by\, author and educator Adriana Devers at the Westbury Memorial Public Library this past summer.\nThis program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of The Governor and the New York Legislature\, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.

Registration opens on July 1st\, 2023\, program begins 7/19/2023. Program will culminate with a showcase reception open to the public in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month.
