SUMMARY:Heckscher Museum of Art presents Central Park's Bethesda Fountain Visits Heckscher Park Through Immersive AR Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Heckscher Museum of Art\, in partnership with the Central Park Conservancy—the nonprofit organization that manages Central Park—brings Emma Stebbins’ iconic Bethesda Fountain to life in Heckscher Park\, Huntington\, through an Augmented Reality (AR) experience. Visitors will be able to use their smartphones to experience the full monument in this new setting. The immersive experience will allow visitors to look thoughtfully at Stebbins’s magnificent work as they take a 360-degree virtual walk around the entire monument. This one-of-a kind event coincides with the seminal exhibition\, Emma Stebbins: Carving Out History.\nThe exhibition devotes a gallery to exploring the central role the Bethesda Fountain has played serving as a convening space\, cultural hub\, cinematic icon\, beacon for tourists\, and inspiration to other artists\, like Tony Kushner\, who placed the Bethesda Fountain at the center of his Pulitzer Prize winning play Angels in America\, and who wrote a foreword for the exhibition catalogue. After visiting the exhibition\, visitors will be able to experience the spectacular monument just a few feet outside the Museum doors.\nFor the best AR viewing\, visitors can use the QR codes easily accessible on Museum signage in areas in front of the Museum in Heckscher Park. Look for the Emma Stebbins AR in Apple or Google App Stores.

SUMMARY:Long Island Museum – Common Ground
DESCRIPTION:Mary Ahern will be exhibiting her work at the LIM History Museum Main Gallery. The show title\, Common Ground\, is a theme rooted in the appreciation of shared space\, community\, environment\, and culture. Ahern’s large and vivid artwork sparks a vital conversation that reflects the interconnectedness and delicate balance within both the microcosm of the garden and the macrocosm of the cosmos. These identifiable floral Images are glazed and intertwined with abstract underpaintings inspired by the visuals of the universe. \nBy recognizing the delicate balance required for both terrestrial and celestial ecosystems to thrive\, Ahern aims to provide a visual context for understanding the essential balance necessary to sustain life’s intricate harmony across all scales – from the tiniest flower to the grandest galaxy. Through this layered\, evocative imagery\, she invites viewers to pause\, contemplate\, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the fragile yet resilient web of life that sustains our world and cosmos.

SUMMARY:Jan Guarino presents Fearless Watercolors at the Landgrove Inn
DESCRIPTION:I was once you. Struggling to become a better watercolorist. Seeking classes\, workshops\, teachers and techniques and mostly walking away a bit discouraged and disappointed. \nWell\, I believe I just may have some of the key ingredients you’ve been looking for. My students tell me that I am the watercolor teacher they’ve been looking and couldn’t find – and it is likely that I may be that for you as well. I invite you to be part of an immersive experience that will open new ways to approach a blank sheet of white paper. \nThe result will likely forever change the way you think of painting in watercolors. Along with techniques\, my clear process to putting paint and water to paper will help you more successfully express your passion for this medium.
