SUMMARY:Award-Winning Northport Artist\, Mary Ahern\, has been selected for a six-week Solo Exhibition at the historic Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie\, NY
DESCRIPTION:Set on a hill overlooking the scenic Hudson River in Poughkeepsie\, New York\, Locust Grove includes a historic estate\, including art galleries\, a museum\, and a Nature Preserve with 200 acres of landscaped grounds and five miles of hiking trails. \nLocated in their Visitors Center\, the Transverse Gallery is dedicated to continuing the century-long tradition of displaying art by contemporary artists. Starting with Samuel Morse in the 1850s and continuing on with the Young family from 1895 through the 1970s\, art was a central focus of the estate & its owners. Locust Grove carries on that appreciation for art today at the Transverse Gallery\, with four solo exhibitions each year featuring selected artists. \nArtist Statement: In my garden\, I cultivate both plants & artistic inspiration. My art bridges garden & gallery\, inviting intimate observation of nature. Through my art\, I embed hidden philosophies discovered in my garden’s contemplative spaces.

SUMMARY:Artist Member Micheal Luminova presents Opening Art Exposition
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening where art\, science\, and imagination come together. \nEastern Advisory Group is proud to host an exclusive exhibition featuring internationally recognized contemporary artist Micheal Luminova. \nGuests will have the opportunity to experience a collection of original works\, meet the artist\, and participate in a live Q&A discussing the inspiration and creative process behind his work.\nThis intimate exhibition offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with an artist whose work challenges traditional perspectives while exploring humanity’s connection to the universe. \nWhether you are an art collector\, enthusiast\, or simply curious to experience something unique\, this event promises an inspiring evening of conversation\, creativity\, and discovery. \nEvent Details \nThursday\, August 6\n5:00 PM – 7:00 PM \nEastern Advisory Group \n410 Motor Parkway\, 2nd Floor\nHauppauge\, NY 11788 \nAdmission is complimentary. Light refreshments will be served. \nA portion of the evening will also highlight the work of Sam’s Children\, helping bring awareness to their mission of supporting children and families in need. \nAbout the Artist \nFor more than 25 years\, Micheal Luminova has been redefining contemporary art through an innovative approach that transforms mirrors into immersive works of art. Raised in a family of artists and mentored from an early age\, Luminova developed a distinctive artistic voice centered on reflection\, both literally and metaphorically. \nRather than painting on traditional canvas\, he creates on mirrors\, allowing viewers to become part of each composition. His work explores galaxies\, black holes\, neutron stars\, and the unseen forces that shape our universe\, inviting every observer to see themselves reflected within these cosmic landscapes.\nInspired by concepts found in astrophysics and quantum science\, Luminova’s paintings bridge scientific wonder with artistic expression. Many of his pieces require years of meticulous craftsmanship\, resulting in works that encourage curiosity\, contemplation\, and a deeper appreciation for the harmony of the natural world.

SUMMARY:William Low - Light Remembered at Gallery North\, Setauket
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Dates\nJuly 16 – August 23\, 2026\nOpening Reception\nThursday\, July 16\, 2026\n6:00 PM – 8:00 PM \nGallery North is pleased to present Light Remembered\, William Low’s first solo exhibition at Gallery North features small and large scale oil paintings. From the seaside suburbia of Long Island and Cape Cod to the bustling urban cityscapes of Hong Kong and New York City\, Low transports viewers by combining his modern approach to composition and a classical handling of light. Low relies on his perceptive memory whether it’s guided by the radiant glow of light reflected by monumental skyscrapers or the glimmers that dance through the leaves along a tree lined street. The viewer’s own experiences are recalled through Low’s captured energy of the passing moment and the sensations of being present in these vastly different environments. \nBorn in New York City\, Low received his BFA from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan\, NY and his MA at Syracuse University. Clients and commissions for his work include US Postal Service Stamp Designs\, The New York Daily News Sunday Magazine\, The New York Times and MTA Arts & Design program. Low’s paintings are in numerous permanent collections including Houston’s Restaurants Nationwide\, Reading Public Museum and Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong. Exhibitions include Museum of the City of New York’s\, This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture 2024\, and The Heckscher Museum of Art’s Long Island Biennial 2026. Low is a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He is currently based in Huntington\, NY.

SUMMARY:Jan Guarino presents Fearless Watercolors at Omega Institute
DESCRIPTION:This program is a culmination of ideas I’ve discovered and techniques I’ve adapted from years of classes and workshops. It’s all guided by one goal: to help you interpret your subject in a way that feels unique\, fresh\, and truly worthy of becoming a painting. \nWatercolor is unlike any other medium—it has a mind of its own. That unpredictability can cause artists to freeze up and try to control every movement. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn how to work with the paint instead of against it. \nYou’ll discover techniques that help you feel free while still holding onto detail—how to gain control when you need it\, make corrections with confidence\, and actually enjoy the process. \nWe’ll explore how to trust your instincts with color\, build strong contrast\, and let blossoms\, drips\, and splatters become part of your expression—not mistakes.\nYou’ll also learn what makes a great reference photo so you can set yourself up for your best possible painting from the very beginning.\nI’ll share practical tools and solutions you can take with you and integrate into your own work right away.\nWhether you’re a beginner or have years of experience\, this workshop will give you insight\, clarity\, and techniques you can continue to build on.\nCome create something that feels like yours
