SUMMARY:The Art Guild of Port Washington Presents Gouache 101: From Palette to Plein Air with Allie Zeyer
DESCRIPTION:This course is an introduction to the newly popular but centuries old medium of Gouache. The focus of study will be exploring Gouache’s unique artistic properties and how it can be used as a means for discovery both in the studio and in plein air. Due to its fast-drying nature\, Gouache allows an artist to develop ideas quickly. A well-planned Gouache study can stand as a finished painting or act as a catalyst for larger works. However the artist chooses to use the medium\, Gouache can become yet another tool in the artist’s creative toolbox to help produce confident and lifelike paintings. \nThis is a Classroom and Plein Air Setting Workshop Focusing On:\nBasics of Gouache Paint\, Paper\, Brushes and Materials\nMixing the Right Color Value\, Opacity and Saturation\nUsing Gouache in the Iteration Process Both in the Studio and Out in the Open Air\nBuilding Confidence Using Gouache as a Medium to Capture the Texture and Feel of The Plein Air Environment

SUMMARY:Fearless Watercolors in Vermont
DESCRIPTION:I was once you. Struggling to become a better watercolorist. Seeking classes\, workshops\, teachers and techniques and mostly walking away a bit discouraged and disappointed. Well\, I believe I just may have some of the key ingredients you’ve been looking for. My students tell me that I am the watercolor teacher they’ve been looking and couldn’t find – and it is likely that I may be that for you as well. I invite you to be part of an immersive experience that will open new ways to approach a blank sheet of white paper. The result will likely forever change the way you think of painting in watercolors. Along with techniques\, my clear process to putting paint and water to paper will help you more successfully express your passion for this medium. \nDuring these 4 days you will be able to immerse yourself and not worry about cleaning\, shopping\, cooking – nothing but painting! You will be staying the charming Landgrove Inn\, Landgrove Vermont
