SUMMARY:Dance Visions NY and the Friends of Cedarmere present Tuffets and Tricksters
DESCRIPTION:Dance Visions NY presents “Tuffets and Tricksters\,” a new site-specific program for Cedarmere\, with a thematic focus inspired by the enduring lessons of fables\, parables\, nursery rhymes\, fairy tales\, and mythology. Across cultures and centuries\, these narrative forms have provided frameworks for grappling with ethical dilemmas\, personal responsibility\, power\, courage\, and compassion. We will artistically express how these foundational moral narratives resonate within contemporary challenges in an increasingly perilous world. Through dance works alongside song\, spoken word\, and visual art\, the program reinterprets these stories through a contemporary artistic lens allowing audiences to encounter these ideas viscerally and reflectively.

DESCRIPTION:Brooke Di Spirito (three-time HAC grant winner) is making her off-broadway playwriting debut this January!! This is her 8th show she has written and produced and is extremely grateful for this opportunity. \nn this side-splitting new musical comedy\, nothing is ever black and white. \nNewton Anderson\, a 17-year-old chess prodigy\, is facing the greatest player in the world: Carson Marlsen. With international notoriety and $100\,000 on the line\, Newton and his clueless best friend\, Jim\, hatch an…unconventional…plan to cheat. For curious theatre-goers and chess fans alike\, come on down to The Opening.
