SUMMARY:Dance Visions NY presents Art & Music in Motion at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Dance Visions NY\, under the direction of Beth Jucovy\, and the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library present Dance Visions NY’s newest program: “Art and Music in Motion.” The concert features new dance works with projected imagery\, adding new layers to series’ of original paintings by local esteemed visual artists as well as new dance pieces inspired by music including live music of Farah Chandu and Willow Interfaith Women’s Choir and Jazz Voclaists ose Gunter and Elysa Sunshine. With 12 professional company dancers. \nFeatured is “Subway Windows\,” based on artwork of Ilene Isseks\, a high-energy work in which groups of diverse subway riders attempt to engage in the NY ritual of ignoring each other. As the subway proceeds\, the riders’ anonymity dissolves\, personalities and dreams emerge\, and interactions occur. Also featured is Through the Portals\, based on artwork of Susan Ruth Cohen\, depicting worlds of matter and relationships\, moments in time before they dissolve and transform. \nThis program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Huntington Arts Council\, Inc.

They have visited 43 sates and eight Canadian provinces\, in addition to broadcasting solar-powered livestreams from the back of the van. Among his many accolades\, Cook was chosen by attendees at the 2019 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival as the artist “Most Wanted to Return” following his performance in that year’s Falcon Ridge/Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase.
