SUMMARY:Harvesting Memories in Blue and Beyond\, a solo exhibition by Sherry Davis.
DESCRIPTION:Harvesting Memories in Blue and Beyond\, a solo exhibition by Sherry Davis. Join us Friday\, September 5th\, 5 – 8PM for the opening reception. All are welcome to attend. \nHarvesting Memories in Blue and Beyond\, traces the development of Sherry’s recent large scale work Harvesting Memories in Blue. The exhibition presents an in-depth exploration of the creation\, challenges\, and impact of a 12-foot geodesic sphere created from over 1\,000 pairs of upcycled denim jeans\, installed in a farm field in Riverhead\, NY. As an immersive\, multimedia experience\, Harvesting Memories in Blue and Beyond\, uses photographs\, video\, related artwork\, new pieces\, and a panel discussion to explore the significance\, environmental\, and community dimensions of her work. This exhibition shares Sherry’s vision as a fiber artist\, rooted in sustainability and collective storytelling\, while honoring East End farmers and addressing textile waste. \nHarvesting Memories in Blue and Beyond is on display through October 12th\, 2025 in our Main Street Gallery\, 213 Main St\, Huntington\, and on our website\, link in bio. \nMain Street Gallery hours: Tues – Fri\, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM\, some weekends. SUMMARY:Jennifer A. Uihlein presents “Narratives in Motion – The Evolution of a Storyteller” A Solo Show
DESCRIPTION:Step into the vibrant and ever-evolving world of storytelling through photography with Jennifer A. Uihlein’s powerful solo exhibition\, “Narratives in Motion – The Evolution of a Storyteller.” Hosted by The Firefly Artists in the heart of Northport\, this compelling show explores the transformative journey of narrative\, identity\, and visual expression. \nBut the experience doesn’t stop there… \nIntroducing: “Unscripted: Artists Outside the Frame” with Jennifer A. Uihlein\nWatch as art comes alive in real-time! “Unscripted: Artists Outside the Frame\,” is a bold new series of live-recorded artists taking place in the gallery window on select dates during the exhibition —inviting street-level audiences into an intimate view of the creative process. These conversations\, featuring local artists and art advocates\, dive deep into what art truly means\, the artists’ process\, and why it resonates so powerfully with us all. \nEpisodes debut bi-monthly starting this October on YouTube and teasers on social media\, bringing the pulse of Long Island’s creative scene to a global audience. “Unscripted: Artists Outside the Frame\,” celebrates authenticity\, sparks cultural curiosity\, and gives voice to artists shaping tomorrow. Whether you’re a passerby or tuning in from across the world\, this project invites you into a shared space of imagination\, dialogue\, and discovery. SUMMARY:TRIPARTITE featuring Member Artist Howie Pohl
DESCRIPTION:How do separate works join together to make a work of art? Can three works serve to create an artistic statement? Are three photographs of a similar subject or theme superior to one strong photo? Is three better than one\, or two\, or four?\nMembers of the Long Island Center of Photography (LICP) attempt to answer this question by exhibiting three works that complement each other. How the photographs work together (or oppose each other) reveals the artist’s creative thought.\nArtists of the Middle Ages employed the triptych to tell stories. Composed of a large central panel and two smaller ones painted on the inside like folding doors\, the three panels of the triptych reflect the three individuals of the Christian Holy Trinity. LICP artists update these concepts to modern times and beyond in TRIPARTITE\, a display of three photographs that reveal a higher aesthetic truth. The photographers can divine the concept of “three” as they wish – as a triptych\, as photos of three objects\, or of subjects that come in threes\, or even photographs that complement each other as a set of three.\nRECEPTION: SUNDAY\, JULY 20\, 2:00 – 5:00 PM
