DESCRIPTION:The Heckscher Museum of Art welcomes all couples to celebrate love\, art\, and joy\, while having their marriage vows renewed and or officiated\, by Huntington Town Clerk Andrew Raia\, on the steps of the Heckscher Museum in beautiful Heckscher Park. \nHuntington Town Clerk Andrew Raia will be performing marriage ceremonies\, for free\, by appointment\, from 10 am to 12 pm\, every 20 minutes. Couples must register ahead of time to secure a time slot for Saturday September 6th\, and must visit the Town Clerk’s office at least 24 hours in advance of the ceremony to secure a marriage license. \nAt 12 pm\, any couple wanting to renew their vows (or participate in a celebratory non-binding ceremony) are welcome to take part in a joyful group ceremony on the Heckscher Museum terrace. Registration for the group ceremony is also required and can be done below. Photographs will be available for purchase by participants. Proceeds will support the non-profit Museum’s future public programming. \nThe event is being organized\, in connection with the Museum’s current exhibition\, All of Me with All of You: LGBTQ+ Art Out of the Collection\, to celebrate the important 10 year milestone anniversary of the Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision recognizing same-sex couples’ right to marry in the United States.

DESCRIPTION:Commack-Based Ballet Company New York Dance Theatre Presents “Sleeping Beauty” starring Graceanne Pierce and Benji Pearson as Princess Aurora and Prince Desiré. Saturday\, June 7 at 4 pm at Stage 74 within the Suffolk Y JCC. Directed and staged by Artistic Director Nicole Loizides\, a long-time dancer\, choreographer and director known for her work around the world.\nNew York Dance Theatre (NYDT) brings this fairytale classic ballet “Sleeping Beauty” to the Suffolk Y JCC’s Stage 74 in Commack with a new production featuring NYDT principal dancers\, guest artists\, and students of the Ohman School of Ballet (OSB) ranging from the youngest levels to pre-professional trainees. This re-imagined version is great for all ages with grace\, grit and humor throughout.\nBefore the show\, children can enter a costume contest to win a ballet birthday party for up to ten guests. Dress as a favorite “Sleeping Beauty” character and arrive at the theater between 3-4 pm to enter. All ticket holders are invited to a meet and greet reception including photos with the cast following the performance. Ages three and up recommended. Tickets: Children 10 and under $15.00; adults $30.00. Special pricing is available for Scout troops by calling the New York Dance Theatre office: 631.462.0964.\nGraceanne Pierce\, performing the role of Princess Aurora\, has danced with ABT Studio Company and Ballet West as well as with the international tour of A Chorus Line and with Dance Ballerina Dance in Denmark. She continues to freelance worldwide and is on the teaching staff at NYDT’s training ground\, Ohman School of Ballet. Benji Pearson\, Prince Desiré\, has danced with Boston Ballet and San Francisco Ballet among other companies and will be making his debut with performance with NYDT. Craig Wasserman\, Prince Chéri\, received his dance training at the School of American Ballet in New York City\, often performing with New York City Ballet before joining Pennsylvania Ballet (now Philadelphia Ballet) and Kansas City Ballet among other companies\, and is also on the teaching staff at OSB.

DESCRIPTION:Usdan welcomes prospective summer camp families to visit our 140-acre wooded campus to further explore our art programs for kids grades K-12. \nWhen you arrive for a tour\, you’ll be paired with a member of the Usdan community\, often a current or former teacher\, staff member\, or Usdan alum\, who can speak directly to your child’s area of study — Theater\, Music\, Visual Art\, Dance\, Creative Writing\, Nature\, or Recreation. \nYour tour guide will answer your questions as they lead you on a guided walk around campus\, taking care to bring you to the studio spaces most applicable to your child’s area of study. \nTours last between 45–60 minutes and are typically private or in small group settings. The tour will traverse paved\, unpaved\, and hilly areas. Please be prepared to complete the tour on foot as no ground transportation will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes. At the end of your tour\, you may meet with one of our Enrollment Specialists who can answer any questions you may have regarding the enrollment process.

She is a NY-licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA. SUMMARY:New York Dance Theatre\, Inc. presents Gold Coast Dance Festival
DESCRIPTION:Open to the public\, this wonderful evening showcases dance as an art form and cultural celebration.\nEnjoy the setting sun over Hempstead Harbor while watching some of the countries top artists including dancers from New York City Ballet\, Dance Theatre of Harlem\, Broadway\, Pennsylvania Ballet\, San Francisco Ballet\, and so many more. Every year GCDF hosts a wide array of Folkloric dancers representing regions from around the world including but not limited to Mexico\, Japan\, China\, the Middle East\, and Africa\, making this a very unique evening for all families to enjoy! This year we welcome 4 world premieres by Skyla Schreter\, Fadi Khoury\, Keerati Jinakunwiphat and Da’ Don Doane.\nThe event is free to the public\, though we recommend a $20 donation to help keep our mission alive and thriving throughout the year. This festival acts a gateway for many young artists to connect with resources that are necessary in pursuing a career in dance and our Développé program connecting at-risk youth with dance through free workshops\, classes\, and scholarships.\nThe Gold Coast Dance Festival is scheduled every first Saturday in August at 6pm in Morgan Memorial Park in Glen Cove. The rain date is the following Saturday. Please bring your family and some friends\, a snack and a blanket or chair and enjoy an evening unlike any other on Long Island!\nSurrounding the event the public may enjoy workshops and classes hosted by New York Dance Theatre and led by leading artists from Broadway and beyond. DESCRIPTION:“Cannons and Kids” – Director Don Sherman and a surprise guest conductor wind up the 66th season of free concerts with a spotlight on youth: young musicians from the Northport Schools’ SMartSummer music program present their final concert on the Krueger Bandstand earlier in the evening\, and some will join the Community Band in one selection! A raffle winner from our “Bring a Can to the Concert” food donation campaign will conduct Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”\, and the traditional Tchaikovsky “1812 Overture” with cannon will be another unforgettable finale.
