Huntington Arts Council is proud to present High Arts Showcase XV, the Arts in Education JOURNEY program student art show. The exhibit is on display from May 10 through June 1, 2019 at the Main Street Gallery, 213 Main Street, Huntington NY 11743. This is a free event, all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
This year the High Arts Showcase will recognize both visual and performance art from junior and senior high school students attending our JOURNEY program partner districts. Historically focusing on a visual art exhibit in the gallery we will be dedicating an opening reception to both categories of art.
On Friday, May 10, 2019 from 6-8 pm we will be hosting a reception for the Visual Art portion of this exhibit. The Visual Art exhibit will feature a wide range of work across various media forms such as oil, watercolor, digital photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, fabric and collage. On Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm we will be celebrating performance art with a selection of live performances in the gallery. Performances will consist of dance, poetry, solo and small group musical performances of both original music and that of other artists. All events take place in our Main Street Gallery, 213 Main St., Huntington NY 11743.
