JOURNEY Cultural Arts Workshops for Teachers-Aloha Hulu, Cultural Traditions of Hawaii

The Native Hawaiian culture is rich, mysterious, unique and over 1,500 years old. Join teaching artist Luana Haraguchi from Aloha Hulu and learn about why Hawaiians have always considered dance an integral part of their culture. Attendees will explore language and legend as we go into depth and study Hawaiiana. Participants will sample dance and music. 3rd grade Communities Around the World, general classroom K-6, Music, Dance and library science teachers.

Teachers from the following districts attend for free:  Cold Spring Harbor CSD, Commack UFSD, Harborfields CSD, Huntington UFSD, Northport/East Northport UFSD, Plainview/Old Bethpage CSD, and South Huntington UFSD
