Huntington’s Summer Arts Festival FOLK FESTIVAL featuring Slaid Cleaves and Kirsten Maxwell

July 30, 2016 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Saturday, July 30th – in conjunction with the 11th Anniversary Huntington Folk Festival – Slaid Cleaves headlines as he spins stories with a novelist’s eye and a poet’s heart. The music of Austin-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Slaid Cleaves is rooted in country and traditional folk songs, but it is unusual enough to have held interest in a sea of singer/songwriters across the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. Opening Act – Kirsten Maxwell is a Huntington based singer/songwriter whose purity of voice and turn-of-phrase lyrics brings to mind luminaries like Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins and Maria Muldaur.

Acoustic bands will be playing in Huntington’s Heckscher Park from 12Pm on in various locations as presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington.  The Summer Arts Festival Folk show will being at 8:30PM!  Bring a blanket or chair for seating.
