Huntington’s Summer Arts Festival features Rita Coolidge!
June 26, 2016 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Sunday, June 26th features An Evening with Rita Coolidge a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer whose dynamic voice has long been legend among her peers. With her musical ear and precise vocal sensitivity-she can summon an entire mood of sweet fire or soulful abandon with a single nuance. Not being a stranger to the music industry, Coolidge has charted hits on Billboard’s pop, country, adult contemporary and jazz with fellow musician and former husband Kris Kristofferson. Coolidge’s greatest success on the pop charts came with her breakthroughalbum Anytime, Anywhere with hit singles “Higher and Higher”, “We’re All Alone”, “The Way You Do the Things You Do.” She has also skyrocketed to the top of the adult contemporary charts with “All Time High” (the theme for the James Bond flick Octopussy). Rita Coolidge’s impact is undiminished-her voice as pure, sweet and powerful as ever and her ability to get inside a song honed by experience and overview. Her memoir, Delta Lady was just published by Harper Collins in April 2016.
