Huntington Summer Arts Festival: Orchestra Long Island with David Stewart Wiley and Jeffrey Biegel

7:15pm: Pre-concert talk with Maestro David Stewart Wiley.

8pm: Show. Classical Orchestra “Mozart & Whitman Under The Stars” –The  Orchestra Long Island – David Stewart Wiley (Music Director & Conductor) with Jeffrey Biegel, (piano) – Orchestra Long Island, is the region’s newly-formed professional symphony orchestra, founded by the dedicated professional musicians and Music Director and Conductor David Stewart Wiley of the former Long Island Philharmonic, along with a group of forward-thinking educators and professionals deeply connected to Long Island. The evening will feature a mainly Mozart program, including the Piano Concerto # 23 in A Major (K488), with Jeffrey Biegel (piano).  The evening will include a special world premiere of songs written for Walt Whitman’s poetry for piano & baritone.  Composed by former Syosset resident Dana Perna, the premiere will honor Huntington’s native poet Walt Whitman’s Bi-Centennial.  Vocalist will be renowned bass-baritone Robert Osborne.
