Huntington Arts Council’s Cultural Arts Workshops: “Hawaiian Artists – Cultural Traditions of Hawaii”

November 1 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Native Hawaiian culture is rich, mysterious, unique and over 1,500 years old. Join teaching artist Luana Haraguchi from Hawaiian Artistsand learn about why Hawaiians have always considered dance an integral part of their culture. Attendees will explore language and legend as we go into depth and study Hawaiiana.  Participants will join in dance and music. Great for 3rd grade Communities around the world, general classroom K-6, Music, Dance and library science teachers.

Approved CTLE Sponsor. This series is a component of the Journey multicultural arts-in-education program. Workshops are free to school district teachers in Cold Spring Harbor, Commack, Harborfields, Huntington, Northport/East Northport, Plainview/Old Bethpage, and South Huntington. There is a $50 fee per workshop for teachers from non-Journey school districts and interested community residents. Earn in-service hours or Professional Development credit. (Workshop selections and locations are subject to change.)
