
Huntington Arts Council Announces Huntington Arts Council to Administer Grants for Nassau and Suffolk Counties
HUNTINGTON, NY, 11 August 2009 - The Huntington Arts Council, Inc. has been selected as the administrative site for the 2010 New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Decentralization Regrant. The Arts Council will be regranting a total of $160,000 to artists and non-for-profit organizations for arts programming in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Applicants can request $500 to $5,000 for innovative arts and cultural projects that involve collaboration between artists and/or not-for-profit organizations that directly benefit the community served by the project and take place in either Nassau or Suffolk Counties. Individual artists must be sponsored by a not-for-profit organization. Not-for-profit organizations may apply for up to three projects; total requests cannot exceed $5,000.
Workshops will provide an overview of the program followed by step-by-step grant-writing basics. Please note: all applicants must attend a workshop to be eligible to apply. The deadline for applying for the Decentralization Regrant opportunity is November 6, 2009.
