"Got Talent? Long Island" Showcased the Best of the Best

HUNTINGTON, NY, 30 March 2009 - A huge crowd cheered the entire evening for every finalist on stage at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury this past Saturday evening at "Got Talent? Long Island." This showcase of performing artists from all over Long Island, presented by the Huntington Arts Council, featured original compositions, comedy, contemporary dance, and powerful singing. The panel of judges selected 12-year-old Christopher Borger from Wantagh as the winner for his performance of ""Here's Where I Stand" by Tiffany Taylor. The Audience Choice award went to Amelia Profaci, who sang the Christina Aguilera song "Hurt."

"The talent at this competition was out of this world," stated Diana J. Cherryholmes, Executive Director of the Huntington Arts Council, "This was not amateur hour! Christopher Borger overwhelmed the judges with both his voice and his presence, and the entire audience was touched with his statement when he accepted his award that 'all the finalists are winners'."

Performers ranged from 9-year-old Christian Verfenstein performing Chopin to an American Idol finalist from Selden to a contemporary dance group. The concert grand piano for the evening, provided by Steinway & Sons Piano Gallery in Melville, contributed to the quality of evening.
