The Huntington Arts Council is proud to be a partner in a collaborative exhibition Art@50+ with AARP Long Island and the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset. This by invitation only, juried exhibition surrounds the theme of “What Does Community Mean to You?
This show is an open call to all artists over 50 years of age, whether you are a practicing artist or just getting started. The works can be a range in style from contemporary art to abstract and everything in between! Art@50+ will showcase ten winners, 6-8 works chosen dependent on the size of the work. One finalist will also be featured as the “Artist of the Month” at Huntingtonarts.org. The deadline for entries is October 19, 2018. AARP members and HAC members, 50 plus, receive free entry into the exhibition. All others 50 plus will be required to pay an entry fee of $40.
The juror is Charles A. Riley II, Executive Director of the Nassau County Museum of Art.
This by invitation only, juried exhibition is from December 7 -31, 2018 and takes place at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset. A VIP, reception will take place at the Cultural Arts Playhouse on December 7th from 6-8 PM. All winners (and their families and guests) will be invited to the wine and cheese reception to celebrate the start of the exhibit.
