In 2016, the Huntington Arts Council will again be proud to offer 2 scholarships in the arts for graduating high school seniors.
In the category of visual arts, The Joan Alberti Memorial Fine Art Scholarship, established by Victoria (Alberti) Carlin, is a competitive scholarship for Suffolk County High School Graduating Seniors who are considering furthering their education in Fine Arts. Two scholarships of $600 each will be awarded in 2016 to two individual students who show exceptional promise in fine art. Based on the evaluation of a submitted CD portfolio and essay, the Scholarship Committee will select the two award winners.
In Dance, the Sandi Bloomberg Scholarship for Dance will be offered for male or female dancers in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The scholarship is for graduating seniors who are considering furthering their education in dance – but not necessarily in an accredited program. This scholarship is offered by Sandi Bloomberg and one award of $1,000 will be given in 2016.
